Sanctuary is a 4-week live online zoom course to empower activists and changemakers with the tools needed to create a feeling and culture of thriving.

Burnout is real, particularly for activists, and particularly in a year as crazy as 2020. In completing this course, you will have a feeling of greater peace, strength, creativity and resilience, along with the skills necessary to help create a culture of sustainable activism.

Sanctuary is not a band-aid – it is a complete overhaul of the systems and cultures within ourselves and our movements that cause burnout.

  • Activists of all backgrounds and causes – environmental and climate, racial and gender equality, human rights, justice, LGBTQ+ and more.
  • Community organisers
  • Social justice advocates
  • Mutual aid organisers
  • All changemakers who work, or want to work, for a more beautiful world

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Why enrol?” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:32px|text_align:left|color:%23172f44|line_height:40px” google_fonts=”font_family:Titillium%20Web%3A200%2C200italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C600%2C600italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]

The culture of Burnout isn’t something that we can address on our own, and when we’re feeling stressed or burnt out ourselves – or know others who are – it’s hard to know where to begin to feel good again.

This course brings together a community of likeminded people to design regenerative, sustainable movements, where activists & changemakers can thrive. We explore what we can do to recover from and prevent burnout, so we can deepen our impact and happiness.

This course empowers you and your community or organisation to be stronger, more effective agents of change.

Each week will consist of a live 60 minute zoom that incorporates coaching, Q&A and open dialogue around how we can make real change in our lives & organisations. There will be weekly exercises and activities to help us embed the changes into everyday life, with further reading and viewing material also available.

Sanctuary begins July 19, 2020.

Real self care is a revolutionary act, with its roots in political activism. By honouring our own wellbeing, we enhance our ability to care for others. Together explore things like:

  • How to set simple, healthy boundaries with others
  • How to slow down our yes and get comfortable with saying no
  • Stillness, and the roles mindfulness and meditation can play
  • Listening to our bodies and the needs they are communicating

  • How play can help us become more imaginative activists
  • How to foster a culture of fun and play in our communities, movements and organisations

I was increasingly an activist myself, with an interest in social causes, climate justice and alternative economic models.

Working in activist and changemaker circles however, I realised quickly the culture of burnout present. The idea that we can and must be working for change 24 hours a day, or that rest is a luxury we can’t afford.

In this area, I found the intersection of my work. I believe that every one of us can make a difference in the world, but that we are our most impactful when we are living lives that are meaningful and exciting to us. Play, imagination, rest and a sense of awe and wonder are drivers of change in their own right.

My work as a progressive life coach and activist is in connecting changemakers with their deepest callings, learning to honour their bodies and wisdom, and to reimagine the world in the process.

Outside of my coaching, I spend my time in climate and environmental activism, with a interest in non-violence and all its forms.
